Spring is coming - the birds are nesting!
Shed members have been busy making bird boxes ready for the Spring. These particular ones are going to the Nidderdale Angling Club which controls around 7 miles of fishing on the River Nidd and Scar House Reservoir. Fishing is centred around the pretty market town of Pateley Bridge, in the Yorkshire Dales. The River Nidd has a good population of Wild Brown Trout and wild Grayling. A very busy December indeed!
December has seen Shed members busy making things and helping other local Community groups. For the Pateley Bridge Town Council we once again installed their Christmas display into the Fox's Head Well, after having to change the lighting from 240v Mains to battery powered 12v lighting strings. We then helped the Summerbridge Players unload all the "flats" and behind the scenes props from the trailer, kindly stored by the Houseman family at Mill Hurst, Darley. Did you remember?
Members of the Pateley Shed remove their Armistice display from the Fox's Head Well at the top of Pateley High Street. Installed for the Town Council as part of the Town's Remembrance commemorations, we were unable to illuminate the display of a night this year. Unfortunately, North Yorkshire Council had condemned the electricity supply to the Well as unsafe and disconnected it. Hopefully next year we may be back to normal.
